The pop-up celebrates writers\, thinkers\, and musicians for whom English is not a translation but a living space — a language of creation\, encounter\, and dissent. \nThe program unfolds across two public events: \n• English as Disruption: A Different Mother Tongue — on how English unsettles Germany’s literary order and redefines \nbelonging.With a reading and discussion by Stella Nyanzi\, live music by singer-songwriter Moyo Ray\, and a DJ set by Transatlantic \nBounce. \n• English as Dissent: A Second Language as Witness—on English as the language of recognition\, refusal\, and truth-telling. With a conversation between Peggy Kurka and Lubi Barre. \nA special book curation by Davenport Books accompanies the takeover\, inviting visitors to browse\, read\, and linger.
